“Brèches” Exhibition, September 17–November 15, 2026, La Défense

“Brèches” invites you to immerse yourself in the work of four photographers, each with a highly personal vision of nature:
Elsa Leydier: The Dormant Power of Plants
Elsa Leydier, born in 1988, is a photographer who is part of the contemporary art movement. An activist and feminist, her art aims to expose environmental and societal injustices while challenging stereotypes.
In the Brèches exhibition, Elsa Leydier’s work captures a raw and emotional side of nature far removed from postcard imagery. On this occasion, she will unveil a new series of film photographs centered on plants.

Julien Lombardi: The Interior of the Landscape
Born in 1980, Julien Lombardi is a photographer who explores different facets of the environment, identity, and memory. His artistic research focuses on subjects such as tourism, heritage, and the building of a young republic. 
As part of “Brèches,” he seeks to show that life extends beyond what is visible to the naked eye. He photographs the invisible interior of territories through optical microscope images of geological materials and mineral textures. 
Smith: Invisible Energies
Smith, born in 1985, is an artist-researcher with a degree in philosophy from the Sorbonne who experiments with and explores the connections between contemporary humanity and its figures. He is interested in representations, drawing inspiration from a wide variety of people (writers, astronauts, farmers, shamans, and others).
The core of his work is to make the invisible visible by highlighting microorganisms and energy flows using various tools: thermal cameras, scientific devices, sensors sensitive to invisible radiation, and more.

Marine Lanier: The Memory of Water
Born in 1981, Marine Lanier is a renowned photographer. Through her lens, she reveals a nature that is as familiar as it is intimate or mysterious, moving between zones of shadow and dazzling light.
The work she is exhibiting at La Défense is drawn from her series of photographs titled “Les Vagues” (The Waves). In this way, she disrupts the mineral-like order of the business district, which could be compared to the surface of a lake. Through her work, Marine Lanier evokes a sense of vertigo and breathlessness, recalling the open sea and the surging tides of the oceans.
