Slinky

Artist: Sébastien Preschoux (1974)
Installation date: 2019
Techniques: Wall fresco, wires

Under the artistic direction of Quai 36, French artist Sébastien Preschoux has created Slinky, two works located in the Jardins de l'Arche, beneath the pedestrian promenade linking the Jardin Gilles Clément to the Terrasses Valmy.

The mural and pictorial work revisits the characteristic coverings of the 70's and 80's with a sequence of colors, shapes and playful kinetic effects, designed to artistically accompany users' journeys. In this way, the artist aims to capture the attention of passers-by through a graphic journey whose lines are channeled into a colorful spiral.

The second work is an installation which, in dialogue with the fresco, has been conceived as an immersion where only human movement brings the material to life, the work being visible only if the passer-by looks up. A three-dimensional installation conceived with taut, geometric threads, a technique characteristic of the artist's work.
