Le Somnambule

Artist: Henri de Miller (1953 - 1999)
Installation date: 1983
Techniques: Chrome-plated stainless steel

Seeming to take flight towards the heavens, the slender figure of the somnambulist defies the laws of balance, perched on a sphere, itself resting on the edge of a cubic volume. This bronze and steel sculpture, installed in 1983 on the Place de l'Iris, creates a surprise in the midst of the towers of La Défense.
