Jardin des Continents

Jardin des Continents
Adress : 1 avenue du Général de Gaulle - 92800 Puteaux
Located near the Terrasses Boieldieu, the Jardin des Continents (2018) is one of three Community gardens at Paris la Défense. Its creation benefited from a co-construction process during which some one hundred employees and residents imagined these new gardens as a place for exchange, relaxation and sharing.
Le Jardin des Continents combines a number of assets: an unobstructed view of Paris and the towers of La Défense, the calm of a space set back from the main roads, a terrace and a garden with ideal exposure for a variety of plantings, including trellised fruit trees. Aromatics, perennials, berries, vegetables and small trellised fruit trees make up the crops, planted directly on the slab (with topsoil), in raised planters or on the ground.
Employees take advantage of their lunch break to enjoy a moment of calm and gardening, and reconnect with nature. Residents take advantage of quiet evenings, Saturdays and Sundays to take up the slack. Small educational slates indicate the name and origin of the plants, in relation to the continent they represent. The pathway is covered with walnut shells, forming an ecological and recycled soil that also infiltrates and nourishes. A composter invites you to deposit your biowaste to improve the soil.
In 2022, the garden was awarded the "eco-garden" label.
