Parc du Chemin de l'Île

Surface area : 14,5 ha
Adress : 90 avenue Hoche - 92000 Nanterre

This 14.5-hectare park, inaugurated in 2006, is a place for strolling and relaxation. It is part of the green network initiated by the Département to "return the Seine to its inhabitants" by reclaiming leisure and walking areas along the river. Composed to offer a wide variety of atmospheres and walks, the park is punctuated by pavilions designed to animate it: the "Pavillon des berges", the "Maison du Parc" is a place of discovery and information, featuring thematic exhibitions and documentation on the park's environmental approach. Vegetable gardens, Ariadne's thread, hut nests, horse guards... inventive play areas of meticulous design, appealing to the agility and ingenuity of children aged 2 to 12, have been specially created for this park!

An exemplary ecological achievement

The park features ponds that purify part of the Seine's water through the natural action of filtering plants and micro-organisms:

  • Natural recycling of Seine water
  • Varied flora
  • Ecological management limiting the use of pesticides
  • A building complying with High Environmental Quality (HEQ) requirements
