Place Basse
Place Basse
57 esplanade du Général de Gaulle - 92800 Puteaux
A plot planted with umbrella-shaped holm oaks and a mixture of Chinese and Mediterranean shrubs of all kinds: nandina, rosemary, lavender, jasmine, and escallonia, planted in containers carved with women's heads, works by artist Shelomo Selinger, “La Danse” (The Dance).
This square is a passageway for pedestrians and workers in the business district, with underground pedestrian walkways leading to the Esplanade de La Défense metro station, as well as access to the Grande Arche and surrounding towers. The Place Basse is a popular meeting place, whether for lunch on one of the many terraces of the square's restaurants and cafés, or simply for a breath of fresh air. The square also offers a pleasant setting for strolling, with benches and planters. The Place Basse is also a venue for cultural, sporting and festive events, such as concerts and pétanque competitions! Place Basse is a lively, practical place that embodies the friendly, dynamic spirit of La Défense.
