Built in 1975 by architects Jean de Mailly and Robert Zammit, the Ariane Tower is currently undergoing a transformation to improve its thermal and energy performance. This transformation is in line with the objectives of the Paris La Défense business district. Indeed, the Ariane transformation project places a strong emphasis on the reuse of materials and recycling, with examples including the renovation of the façade, the creation of a business center, and the redesign of the lobby. It is also part of an ESG and sustainable development approach initiated by its owner and supported by all those involved in the project, while preserving the identity of the Ariane Tower.
The tower's strengths highlighted
The thermal renovation is adapted to the new challenges of the 21st century. It will highlight the tower's main features, such as its portholes, shape, height, and concrete structure. Thanks to the replacement of obsolete glazing, the new façade will offer improved natural light transmission and highlight the raw materiality of the base and attic.
Improved tower usage
The entrance pavilion has been rebuilt to offer new services to the tower's occupants, and its exterior facilities have been redesigned to improve their usability. Interior work completes this renovation program, with the creation of meeting spaces and an auditorium enriching the Ariane tower's service offering.
Work schedule
- Renovation of the base: July 2022 to fall 2023
- Renovation of the facade: November 2022 to 2025
- Delivery: 2025
