The former Défense 2 building becomes Edenn
By October 2025, the demolition/reconstruction program for the Défense 2 building will include a new program covering an area of approximately 30,000 m² called “Edenn.”
Located at the intersection of Boulevards de La Défense, des Bouvets, and Rue Célestin Hébert, the building will be situated between Origine, the new Vinci Campus, and the Axa headquarters in Nanterre.
Edenn will develop office space on the upper floors, building services on the ground floor, and shops open to the public on the ground floor. A food store and a restaurant will also be part of the new development. It will include a ground floor with urban courtyards facing the existing boulevards, greenery (patios and tree-lined walkways, green roofs). It will include a ground floor with urban courtyards facing the existing boulevards, greenery (patios and tree-lined walkways, green roofs).
A mixed-use development combining wood, concrete, and metal
Like its neighbor Origine, Edenn will develop a mixed structure of wood, concrete, and metal in order to benefit from the “best environmental labels and certifications sought (HQE Excellent level, BREEAM Excellent level, E+C E3C2-, BiodiverCityLEED Platinum level, BBCA, OSMOZ, R2S 3 stars).” Numerous green spaces will adorn the different levels of Edenn.
The project plans to create an 850 m² alleyway lined with trees and benches, accessible to the public and connecting Boulevard des Bouvets and Boulevard de la Défense. The building's envelope itself will be largely covered in vegetation. The choice of plant species combinations and the creation of small habitats (dead wood, nesting boxes, shelters) will encourage the establishment of endangered local wildlife (house sparrows, bats, pollinating insects, etc.). In addition, the Edenn building will function ecologically as a relay space for the corridor represented by the Terrasses de Nanterre, recognized as being of regional interest by the Île-de-France Regional Ecological Coherence Plan.
To go further...

A program that has already attracted one user. The commercial real estate company has signed a lease agreement with Schneider Electric for approximately 16,000 square meters, or 60% of the building. The global leader in digital energy solutions and automation for energy efficiency and sustainability will then leave its current headquarters in Rueil-Malmaison.
In Nanterre, the new headquarters will be equipped with solutions developed and marketed by Schneider Electric to meet the “highest standards of energy, environmental, and digital performance.”
