Gare Nanterre-La-Folie ligne 15 Ouest

Gare Nanterre-La-Folie ligne 15 Ouest
Project owner: Société des grands projets
Contractor: IntenCités15, a consortium of Vinci Construction and Vinci Energies companies
Start of construction: 2024
Commissioning: 2031
Line 15, western section: Pont de Sèvres < > Saint-Denis Pleyel
Station architect: JFS Architectes
Transport services in the Groues district will be expanded in 2031 with the addition of line 15 of the Grand Paris Express. Facing Rue de Lens and Pont Hebert, Nanterre-la-Folie station boasts a simple architectural design that opens onto the city and blends perfectly into the new neighborhood. Eventually, it will be topped by a mixed-use building with functions distinct from those of the station. The station's interior design, with a generously proportioned glass-enclosed reception hall, takes into account the flow of passengers connecting to the RER E and access to bus lines. From the RER E platforms, passengers will be able to either take the footbridge over the railway tracks to reach line 15 or use the underground passageway (built by the SNCF).
How is the work progressing?
After several months of preparation, civil engineering work has begun on the site with the construction of diaphragm walls for the launch shaft of one of the tunnel boring machines for Line 15 West. Work will continue with the construction of diaphragm walls for the station. The next step will be to build the walls that will define the underground contours of the station.
Line 15, the metro around Paris
The 22.4 km western section of line 15 will pass through 14 municipalities and serve 800,000 residents. It will strengthen the development of the western Paris region's economic hub, particularly La Défense, Europe's leading business district, by connecting it to other strategic points in Greater Paris, such as Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Le Bourget airports. Users will thus benefit from new travel options, complemented by connections to other Grand Paris Express lines and Transilien, RER, metro, and tram lines. In 2031, it will form a 75-kilometer ring road around the capital, together with the southern and eastern sections.

Grand Paris Express, the new automatic rapid transit system
The Grand Paris Express is a development and transportation project designed to facilitate travel between suburbs without passing through Paris. This project will contribute to the transformation of the Île-de-France region. Four new lines will be put into service by 2030 (15, 16, 17, and 18), line 14 will be extended to the north and south of Paris, and 68 new stations will be created.
The new metro will be automated, meeting passengers' need for reliability. Depending on the line, trains will arrive at stations every 2 to 3 minutes on average. Line 15 will connect Nanterre-La-Folie station to Pont-de-Sèvres in 11 minutes instead of the current 36 minutes.
What are the benefits for travelers?
- Significantly improved travel times
- Frequent service with trains running every 2 to 3 minutes on average.
- Several intermodal connections with metro lines 1, 9, 13, tram lines T1 and T2, Transilien trains J, L, and U, and RER lines A, C, D, and E
- Faster and easier access to medical, cultural, and economic facilities
- Travel on less crowded transport
- Improvements around stations to make it easier to use bicycles to reach the metro.
In total, 130 universities and colleges, 408 healthcare facilities, and 656 cultural venues are located within a 10-minute walk of the future Grand Paris Express stations.
