A new-generation tower designed by Jean Nouvel, in the heart of La Rose de Cherbourg
Located 300 meters from La Défense Grande Arche station and fully integrated into the Rose de Cherbourg redevelopment project, the Hekla tower is part of a new urban environment featuring the Boulevard Circulaire ring road, which has been converted into a suspended green promenade inspired by New York's High Line, as well as new links between the city of Puteaux and La Défense.
Designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel, Hekla's architecture is inspired by the triangular plot on which the tower is built. Trapezoidal shapes are outlined on the facades with multiple sunshades that contribute to the building's thermal regulation.
Six young talents committed to excellence
Innovative in its architectural design, the Hekla Tower also aims to be a pioneer in its approach to the working environment of its future employees. The project's co-developers, Hines and AG Real Estate, have brought together a collective of young talents, the “Creatives,” around Jean Nouvel in an unprecedented way. Six personalities who embody French excellence in fields such as sports, philosophy, universal accessibility, gastronomy, design, and artificial intelligence have reflected on the daily lives of the thousands of employees who work at Hekla. This collective illustrates the desire to truly rethink their working environment in a high-rise building. The collective is composed of Édouard Detrez (entrepreneur and creator of the Fauteuil Roulant Français wheelchair), Grégory Dupont (physical trainer for the French national soccer team that won the World Cup in 2018), Julia de Funès (philosopher), Marion Flipo (chef and entrepreneur), Ramy Fischler (designer), and Rand Hindi (data scientist and entrepreneur).
Scheduled for delivery at the end of 2022, its 48 floors will eventually be able to accommodate up to 5,800 employees.

The roof designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel preserves a unique natural treasure: the triplex Club Space on the 46th to 48th floors is topped by a green oasis on the 49th floor rooftop, like a mini high-altitude forest with around thirty trees.
