Located in Nanterre, at the intersection of the business district, Les Terrasses, Les Jardins de l'Arche, and Parc André Malraux, the Altana project enhances the housing supply in this area. This program, led by Nacarat and designed by Christophe Ouhayoun of KOZ Architectes, offers a mix of 128 housing units ranging from studios to five-room apartments, extended by outdoor spaces.

It consists of two residential buildings:

  • A 10-story building with 55 units intended for social housing (ICF La Sablière).
  • A 14-story building with 73 units available for purchase.

The Altana project, delivered in 2019, is fully contributing to the redevelopment of the entire Croissant neighborhood. Built on the site of car parks demolished in early 2017, located along Boulevard de Pesaro in Nanterre, these apartments are surrounded by generous public spaces designed by the Berlin-based agency Topotek. They feature sports and recreational street furniture.

In terms of the building's architecture, priority has been given to light: reflected by the white facades that evoke the nearby Grande Arche. It provides natural light that streams through the large windows to illuminate the interiors of the apartments. Balconies protected by perforated metal railings punctuate the facade.

A word about the architect

Architect Christophe Ouhayoun is one of the partners at Koz Architects, founded in 1999. His firm also designed Les Nids, a residential complex completed in the Faubourg de l’Arche neighborhood of Courbevoie in 2017.

"It's a new generation of housing, a stack of houses that are all different... You enter your home via an interior street where you can meet your neighbors. This alleyway is the start of a lively and varied journey to your home. The extension of the interior living space into large balconies adds depth to the visual perspectives towards the outside and allows you to personalize your space beyond the façade. It's not just a new residential building, but a whole new way of living."
