Designed by a local agency, the Ancre residence is built above three levels of parking on stilts. It has a square layout with a central garden, based on the principle of the Palais-Royal. The building's dimensions comply with the guidelines of the master plan. From the pedestrian deck, three staircases provide access to the mezzanine level, while the upper floors are served by twelve other staircases and elevators. Unlike the other residences, the Ancre residence features loggias, most of which open onto the outside.

A word about architects

The Cabinet de Groupe d'Architectes et Urbanistes (CGAU) was founded in 1963 under the leadership of Jacques Durand, Georges Stroh, and Pierre Vagne. The firm was then called Atelier d'architecture des Ajoux, in reference to the street in Courbevoie where it was located.

It was responsible for numerous projects in Asnières and Courbevoie. As project architect, it built the Fleury-Mérogis prison complex, designed by Guillaume Gillet. The Ancre residence was its second project for the Courbevoie public housing authority (OPHLM).
