The first tower built in La Défense, by engineer Jean Prouvé and architects De Mailly and Depussé, its renovation was both a restoration of the wealth of inventions that make up this pioneering building and its integration into the contemporary world through a redesign of the interior spaces based on light. Inside, a universe of light brings the tower into line with contemporary sensibilities, without any stylistic clash with the original architects: luminous ceilings, opalescent walls, opaque surfaces dematerialized by colored light... In the evening, when the lines of light along the edge of each floor and the central core light up like a heart of light, the tower displays its renewal and its unique presence among the towers of La Défense.

A word about architects

Considered one of the inventors of the curtain wall, Jean Prouvé (1901-1984) left his mark on the business district with significant contributions, even though he never built any buildings. His contribution is no longer visible in its physical form, as his two works have been renovated. The first is the fence of the Cnit, for which he designed, with his son Claude Prouvé, the 206 m of glass facades. The second, particularly noteworthy, is the facades of the Initiale tower, subsequently renovated by the Valode and Pistre agency.
