The Liberty Tower (formerly known as CB16 - CGI) is a renovation of the Logica Tower, itself a renovation of the EDF-GDF Tower. Originally, the tower featured a construction on protruding columns. The framework, visible from the outside, is indicative of a typically French rationalist tradition, in the tradition of Auguste Perret. During the renovation, the thick façade was replaced by a perfectly smooth glass curtain wall with green-tinted spandrels. This allows light to penetrate deep into the building.

A word about architects

The agency, led by William Pedersen (1938), Eugene Kohn (1930), and Sheldon Fox (1930), was founded in 1976. The architects specialize in office towers, which they build all over the world, such as the Adia Tower in Abu Dhabi. In La Défense, the firm restructured the EDF-GDF Tower and the First Tower, formerly the UAP Tower.
