Close to Nelson Mandela Square and located on Terrasse 10, Groupe Arc and Nicolas Michelin & Associés have built 150 homes, including 61 social rental units, 39 subsidized homes, 50 open-market homes, and 1,500 m² of commercial space.
The residential building consists of four white nine-story volumes. Alternating between high and low volumes, the cut-out design allows for multiple orientations and creates deep terraces. The complex also meets ambitious energy and environmental objectives, qualifying it as a low-energy building (BBC).
On the terrace side, the volumes are rhythmically spaced in terms of their thickness, as they are cut at an angle, each offering a deep blue south-west side façade. On the French Provinces side, the volumes are set back and slightly curved at gentle angles, offering multiple orientations with deep terraces that interact with the urban and social renewal project of the Cité des Provinces Françaises, which will be developed at its foot.
Housing on the terraces of the University
This program is taking place on the University Terraces (Terraces 9 to 11), which are unique in that they are designed around the theme of country gardens.
The construction of this program is part of the urban renewal project undertaken by the City of Nanterre in the Provinces Françaises neighborhood under an agreement with the ANRU, with the creation of 61 housing units for the OMHLM.
The first residents moved in in June 2013. The deed of sale was signed on March 29, 2011, and the first stone was laid on July 4, 2011. Construction began in early April 2011.
