The housing program for the Louis Pouey residence, entrusted to the Société civile d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme, differs from those currently in vogue in new towns. It is limited to a 15-story building on a rectangular plan, on the edge of the Wilson block, offering more than 80 apartments. To break up this concrete block, the front and rear façades are adorned with blind panels.
A word about the architect
Founded in the late 1960s by six architects (Guy Autran, Thierry Gruber, Albert Longo, Michel Macary, Philippe Molle, and Aymeric Zublena), the agency participated in the creation of new towns in the Paris region, such as Evry, where it designed the Pyramides neighborhood.
Guy Autran and Albert Longo worked in La Défense as interior designers. For example, they won the competition to design the lobby of the Aurore Tower.
