Year of construction: 2015
Architect: Emmanuelle Colboc
Address: 164 avenue de la République - 92000 Nanterre
Nearest transportation: Nanterre Université
In the heart of the République district, the residence designed by architect Emmanuelle Colboc for Domaxis is located close to the Nanterre Université train station and Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense University.
Every day, young students live alongside new owners and numerous families. In fact, these 137 units include 47 social housing units, 47 student housing units, and 43 affordable housing units. The apartments, ranging from 2 to 5 rooms, feature balconies and loggias.
The residence also meets high environmental quality standards: the units are BBC (low-energy building) certified and Habitat et Environnement labeled. Hot water is provided by solar panels installed on the roof of the residence. Green roofs have been created with a double advantage: protecting the waterproofing of the residence and ensuring better thermal comfort thanks to insulating vegetation.
Delivered in 2015, the Les Voiles Blanches residence was inaugurated on October 5 (construction began in June 2013 and the first stone was laid on October 9, 2013).
Requalified public spaces
As part of this project, Paris La Défense has carried out several initiatives to redevelop the République district:
- Construction of a temporary 53-space car park
- Creation of public spaces around the residence
- Redevelopment of public spaces in preparation for the delivery of the Nanterre-Université multimodal hub
- Construction of the Anatole France viaduct, which will house associations from Nanterre and the Diocese.
- Planning of the Campus Ynov program: a digital campus coupled with a student residence
Redevelopment of Rue Anatole France in preparation for the arrival of the T1 tramway
A word about the architect
The Emmanuelle Colboc et associés agency designed the Les Voiles Blanches residence in Nanterre. Based in Paris for over thirty years, Emmanuelle Colboc joined forces with Laurent Dominique and Laure Narce to create the agency. Since then, they have been involved in numerous construction projects for housing, schools, hospitals, and public facilities. The agency notably participated in the competition for the design of the Courbevoie event center.
