Developed under the project management of Gecina and designed in collaboration with Ateliers Jean Nouvel, this YouFirst Campus Paris La Défense student residence, with more than 400 units, opened at the start of the 2018 academic year. It offers a variety of rental options, from studios to shared apartments, with a range of services specifically tailored to students' needs: lounge, cafeteria, laundry facilities, gym, and more.

The furnished, equipped, and connected studios range from 15 m² to 31 m², and the shared apartments range from 30 m² to 35 m², also furnished, equipped, and connected. Some apartments have balconies. The residence also has 145 m² of commercial space.

The YouFirst Campus student residence is part of the Rose de Cherbourg urban project, which aims to rebuild links between the business district and the city of Puteaux by giving more space to soft mobility, in particular through the transformation of the Rose de Cherbourg interchange into a suspended promenade. This development was inspired by the Dausmenil promenade in Paris and the High Line in New York.

The creation of a residential program of this scale for students is a sign of Paris La Défense's desire to strengthen the presence of students and higher education. In total, there are nearly 72,000 students in the Paris La Défense area (32 higher education institutions).

All information about the student residence can be found here.

A word about the architect

Jean Nouvel is known for the originality of his architectural projects. He has built an international reputation through his achievements such as the Arab World Institute, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art, and the Quai Branly Museum – Jacques Chirac in Paris, the Lyon Opera House, the Lucerne Culture and Congress Center – KKL (Switzerland), the Agbar Tower in Barcelona (Spain), the Reina Sofía National Art Museum in Madrid (Spain), and more. In 2022, he will deliver his first tower in La Défense with the Hekla Tower project, nearly 220 m high, located in the immediate vicinity of the student housing tower, which enters into dialogue with the Rose de Cherbourg, with contrasting yet complementary features: glass/metal, transparency/mass, brilliance.
