Science Bar on the Sounds of the Marine World, April 15, 2026, at Le Nodd

As part of the 2026 season of Les Extatiques, Les Sociétés secrètes invites you to Le Nodd on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to learn more about the oceans at a Science Bar. In conjunction with the season’s very first exhibition, *Sous l’Horizon*, this second gathering for the curious will be dedicated to exploring the sounds of the marine world.

Keep your eyes and ears open! You’re sure to learn about the oceans and unravel some of their mysteries. But to do so, follow Les Sociétés secrètes…  

This Science Bar evening—the second organized by Les Sociétés Secrètes—will be dedicated to the sounds of the deep sea. You’ll have the chance to dive into the acoustic world of the oceans, interpret these sounds, and understand them.

Starting at 6:30 PM, join a fun quiz-and-drinks event organized by the Maison de la Mer to explore their sonic secrets in a playful way! Later in the evening, you can join a panel discussion moderated by Sophie Becherel, science journalist at France Inter, featuring scientists and artists (Antoine Bertin, sound artist, and Lucia Di Iorio, specialist in soundscapes and eco-acoustics applied to the study of marine ecosystem dynamics) who will examine the impact of human activities on the acoustic environment of the oceans. These discussions will provide an opportunity to reflect on the way we, as human beings, listen to and pay attention to the living worlds around us.

But what lies behind this enigmatic name? “Les Sociétés Secrètes” are a series of events that form part of this season’s cultural program at Les Extatiques, titled “D’autres Mondes” (Other Worlds). These events invite you to deepen your understanding of specific and often little-known aspects of the world around us, while discovering the region’s artistic and cultural treasures. The goal is to offer you experiences that shift your perspective, transporting you to parallel realities while transforming your perception of life, space, and the collective.
