Les Groues en Fête Event in Nanterre on Saturday, June 20, 2026
You’re all invited on Saturday, June 20, 2026, to celebrate the final days of Vive les Groues, an iconic venue, at the Groues en Fête festival! With activities, food trucks, music, and entertainment, this day promises to be a memorable one, whether you come with family or friends!
Vive Les Groues is set to close its doors after nine years. Taken over in 2017 by the Yes We Camp association, this green space for community in Nanterre was always intended to be a temporary venue.
For this big day of celebration—featuring everything from yoga and gardening to a pétanque court, a photo exhibition, a guided tour of the Les Groues construction site, musical performances, and many other surprises—Les Groues en Fête promises a lively day full of good cheer! Ask for the program.
A program for everyone
To give Vive Les Groues a proper send-off, a variety of activities are planned, and the day promises to be full of excitement!
Starting at 11 a.m., the two venues where the activities will take place will open their doors: Vive les Groues and the Maison des projets des Groues.
At Vive les Groues
Starting at 11 a.m., free activities will be open to the public: makeup stations, subsoccer, cotton candy, popcorn, soap bubbles, paper flower making, a pétanque court, a basketball court, a mölkky game, and two ping-pong tables. No need to bring your own equipment—everything is available on-site!
At 11:30 a.m., the official speeches will be delivered by the event organizers: Yes We Camp, the City of Nanterre, and, of course, Paris La Défense.
For food and drinks, food trucks and a refreshment stand will be on site to treat you.

That’s not all! At the Maison des projets des Groues
A second venue will be open to the public on this day: the Maison des projets des Groues!
There, you can explore a scale model of the neighborhood and an exhibition about the workers. An “Archive” presentation will also show you what the neighborhood looked like before the creation of the ZAC (Joint Development Zone).
At 4:00 PM, the Maison des Projets will serve as the starting point for a 90-minute urban walking tour to explore and learn more about current and upcoming construction projects, and to gain further insight into the neighborhood’s future.
To wrap up the day, we’ll head back to Vive Les Groues. Starting at 6:30 p.m., we’ll have live music before giving way to a concert by the Stormtroopers in Stilettos!
The beautiful story of Vive les Groues
In 2017, when the Yes We Camp association launched Vive Les Groues, it actually set up shop on a vacant lot nestled between La Défense, Nanterre, the Fauvelles neighborhood (Courbevoie), and the Faubourg de l’Arche neighborhood (La Garenne-Colombes). The association’s goal was to use this transitional site to create a collaborative green space where nearby residents could gather, interact, and live together in an inclusive environment.
On-site, you could find numerous facilities, such as a horticultural nursery, an urban vegetable garden, beehives, play areas and workshop spaces, private event spaces or co-working rooms, and many other amenities that come to life through collective effort!
Over nine years, Vive Les Groues has enabled the reuse of 3,000 m³ of soil from construction sites and the revitalization of a brownfield that had been unused for 10 years, allowing for the planting of 110 planters, cultivated with the aim of greening the future public spaces of the Groues neighborhood. In collaboration with the association Les Petites Voisines, Vive Les Groues has also recovered over 150 plants from surrounding construction sites, thereby preserving local plant species threatened by the construction work.
