Parc André Malraux

Parc André Malraux
Surface area : 25 ha
Adress : 20 allée de la Danse - 92000 Nanterre
Designed by landscape architect Jacques Sgard and laid out between 1970 and 1978, the Parc Départemental is located in the heart of the commune of Nanterre. Covering an area of 25 ha, this landscaped park is made up of gentle hills criss-crossed by winding paths. Vast areas are fully accessible, including lawns, playgrounds, tree plantations, a lake and canal, as well as a flower and plant garden. The park is bordered by buildings, notably Jacques Kalisz's terraced buildings to the north and Émile Aillaud's cloud towers to the south. As a result, there is no clear break between the park and the surrounding buildings.
The park is a haven of peace and greenery amidst the towers and buildings of La Défense. Visitors can stroll along the tree-lined paths, sit on the lawns or admire the works of contemporary art dotted around the park. Children can also enjoy the park's playground and mini-farm. Parc André Malraux is a must-see for anyone looking for a little peace and quiet in the midst of the hustle and bustle of La Défense.
