Canvas, formerly known as Project Lilo, will replace the Le Guillaumet office building and offer a new housing solution for students in the area starting in 2024.

A co-living and student residence near La Rose de Cherbourg

Located near the future station on Line 15 West, the real estate complex known as “Canvas” (formerly Lilo) is on the border between La Défense and the residential area of Puteaux. With its L-shape, it makes way for a new construction in place of the former Le Guillaumet office building, built in the late 1980s.

The Axel Schoenert architects agency has been commissioned to restructure and construct the future residence for students and young professionals. By 2024, nearly 644 student studios will be built at 60 avenue du Général de Gaulle. The Canvas project has ambitious goals, including:

  • Requalifying the environment by demolishing the existing building and constructing a new one.
  • Creating a building designed for young professionals.
  • Revitalizing the neighborhood with a mixed-use development and the creation of a common base.
  • Creating a garden level connected to the green space on the ground floor.
  • Offering various activities to the building's occupants

The project also involves building a student residence that meets the various current standards in force and offers its future residents high-quality private and communal spaces: a large lobby for the reception area, several communal study rooms, a gym, green outdoor spaces accessible on the ground floor, and private outdoor spaces.

This residence is located in an attractive environment just a stone's throw from the Rose de Cherbourg, where the Hekla tower and the YouFirst Campus Paris La Défense student residence were recently completed in 2018. High-quality public spaces, including a square, reunified green spaces, and facilities such as a skate park, will also be added.

An ambitious program

The plans therefore include a surface area of nearly 20,781 m² with:

  • 644 student and co-living studios, most of which are one-bedroom apartments measuring around 20 square meters. A few two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments will also be available.
  • Terrace, garden, balconies, and accessible rooftop
  • Lobby and common areas, laundry room, fitness center
  • 166 parking spaces, including 33 electric charging stations

This residence will be operated under the Greystar brand, a student residence management platform.
