Science Bar on Bioluminescence on April 9, 2026, at Nodd

As part of the 2026 season of Les Extatiques, Les Sociétés secrètes invites you to Le Nodd on Thursday, April 9, 2026, to learn more about the oceans at a Science Bar. In conjunction with the season’s very first exhibition, *Sous l’Horizon*, this first gathering for the curious will be dedicated to exploring bioluminescence.

Keep your eyes and ears open! You’re sure to learn about the oceans and unravel some of their mysteries. But to do so, follow Les Sociétés secrètes… 

This Science Bar event—the very first organized by the Secret Societies—will be dedicated to bioluminescence, that astonishing luminous phenomenon that illuminates the darkest depths of the oceans! A sign of life that is often overlooked, it is not merely a means of illuminating the abyss; it also serves as a lure, a defense mechanism, and even a tool for seduction…

The evening will begin at 6:30 PM with an aperitif quiz, a fun and friendly event hosted by the Maison de la Mer, where you can test your knowledge on the subject! Next, starting at 7:00 PM, you can attend a panel discussion moderated by Sophie Becherel, science journalist at France Inter, featuring scientists and artists (Jérémie Brudigou, artist, and Youri Timsit, composer-researcher). The impact of artificial lighting on biodiversity and our cultural relationship with the night will hold no more secrets for you.

The goal is to offer you experiences that shift your perspective, transporting you to parallel realities while transforming your perception of life, space, and the collective.
