A Christmas lunch for charity
Would you believe it if someone told you that having lunch at a restaurant in La Défense could be an act of solidarity, helping to give people in extremely precarious situations the same experience? Yet that's exactly what La Salle à Manger offers! And to celebrate the holiday season in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the solidarity restaurant has created three special menus:
- “Lutin” menu: starter + main course = €15 (€11 + €4 donation);
- “Renne” menu: main course + dessert = €15 (€11 + €4 donation);
- “Père Noël” menu: starter + main course + dessert = €20 (€15 + €5 donation).
In 2024, this wonderful initiative provided 178 solidarity meals to those who need them most!

La Salle à Manger is a community restaurant in La Défense created by Maison de l’Amitié. This space is a place of conviviality and sharing, where anti-waste, solidarity, professional reintegration, and dedication reign supreme. In this restaurant, which is open to all, those who can afford it pay for their meal, thereby helping to finance the meals of those who cannot, who pay €1. And the best part is that the lunches, which are served every day from Monday to Friday throughout the year, are delicious and made from unsold food from supermarkets and restaurants in the business district by people undergoing professional reintegration, all served by volunteers. A highly virtuous, eco-responsible, and socially responsible initiative that cares for and brings together the neighborhood's residents!
