You voted for them, and now we’re showcasing them! Following a contest held last March, the 26 winning photos will be on display from Tuesday, May 12, to Sunday, June 14, 2026, on the plaza at La Défense! Celebrating the talent of the participants, this exhibition, titled “La Défense in Color,” offers a glimpse of a vibrant and colorful neighborhood, far removed from common stereotypes.

Here’s a great opportunity to (re)discover La Défense from a new perspective! Among the neighborhood’s iconic landmarks, the photographers at La Défense have highlighted the Instagram-worthy Le Moretti chimney and the vibrant Takis and Agam fountains—but that’s not all! Would you like to explore the business district in a different way?

a colorful explosion!

Skyscrapers reflected in the sky, colorful details, unexpected contrasts, moments of everyday life… the 19 photographers, both amateur and professional, share their perspective on the area and the colors they see there every day. Displayed on the forecourt of La Défense on thirteen 2m² JC Decaux billboards, the 26 winning photos from the contest will be on display from Tuesday, May 12, to Sunday, June 14, 2026, with free admission, much to the delight of local residents and visitors alike!

A contest that generated a lot of excitement

It’s safe to say that this photo contest was a resounding success, with nearly 300 participants seizing the opportunity to showcase their vision of the business district as well as their talent! Of the 464 photos submitted, 26 were selected through a simple process: from April 13 to 23, 2026, visitors to La Défense were able to vote for their favorite photo. The 26 photos with the most votes are the ones you’ll see on the La Défense plaza!

Photography celebrates its 200th anniversary

The first images that have stood the test of time date back to the early 19th century and were created near Chalon-sur-Saône. Thus, photography was born. This new practice, now an integral part of our daily lives, has made it possible to record, transmit, and bear witness to the evolution of the world around us, and to anchor moments in a present that is already past. This photo exhibition is therefore part of a national movement celebrating the bicentennial of photography, both in La Défense and throughout France.
