That’s why when you visit La Salle à Manger for lunch, you’ll enjoy a delicious, healthy, and wholesome meal—all prepared with zero food waste—while helping to provide the same meal to someone in the neighborhood facing extreme hardship. And from December 1 through 23, 2026, the restaurant is offering three special set menus!

A Charity Christmas Lunch
Would you have believed it if someone had told you that having lunch at a restaurant in La Défense would be an act of solidarity that helps ensure people living in extreme poverty can enjoy the same experience? Yet that’s exactly what La Salle à Manger offers! And to celebrate the holiday season in a warm and friendly atmosphere, this solidarity restaurant is offering three special set menus:
- “Lutin” Set Menu: appetizer + main course = €15 (€11 + €4 donation);
- “Renne” Set Menu: main course + dessert = €15 (€11 + €4 donation);
- “Père Noël” Set Menu: appetizer + main course + dessert = €20 (€15 + €5 donation).
In 2024, this wonderful initiative made it possible to provide 178 charity meals to those who need them most!
But what exactly is La Salle à Manger?
La Salle à Manger is the community restaurant in La Défense founded by the Maison de l’Amitié. This space is a place of warmth and sharing, where food waste reduction, solidarity, professional reintegration, and dedication take center stage. In this restaurant open to everyone, those who can afford it pay for their meal, helping to cover the cost of meals for those who cannot—who pay just €1. And the best part is that the lunches—served every day at noon, Monday through Friday, all year round—are delicious and made from unsold food from supermarkets and restaurants in the business district, prepared by people in vocational rehabilitation programs and served by volunteers. A truly virtuous, eco-friendly, and community-minded initiative that cares for and brings together the neighborhood’s residents!
