Enter your buildings into the 5th edition of the CUBE 2026–2027 competition
After nearly four editions, which have seen significant reductions in energy consumption in Paris La Défense, the French Energy Saving Championship is back and is just waiting for your commitment to achieve even better results. Whether you’re a small, medium or large business, a property owner or a tower manager… don’t hesitate any longer – registration is now open for this new edition, which will begin on 1 November 2026!
Whilst the fourth edition, which is still underway, is about to draw to a close and reveal its results, now is the time to recruit participants who are committed to taking action to reduce their energy consumption. This is a commendable initiative for the region in more ways than one, with a significant impact on climate change, whilst also delivering savings on running costs. Does that sound appealing?
What is the CUBE competition?
as Groupama, Hines, Covivio, Engie, Icade, etc.), the CUBE competition offers the opportunity to accelerate the progress of the Tertiary Eco-Energy Scheme and to highlight the environmental performance of assets (towers, high-rise buildings, office blocks, shopping centres, car parks, etc.).
In practice, each participant measures their actual energy consumption, sets targets and shares best practice, which enables them to:
- improve the energy management of their building,
- reduce their energy consumption immediately and sustainably,
As proof of this, during the 2024–2025 season of CUBE Paris La Défense, participating buildings managed to reduce their energy consumption by an average of 22 per cent. This is an impressive result, building on those achieved in the first two editions, and speaks volumes about the power of innovation and collective action across the business district.

Exceptional carbon efficiency
CUBE Paris La Défense demonstrates that it is possible to drastically reduce energy consumption without major construction work by engaging users and optimizing operations. With a carbon reduction cost of around €30 per metric ton of CO₂ avoided, the initiative appears to be approximately 2.5 times more cost-effective than the carbon price projected for the European market in 2025. Every year, improvements are seen, even among new, already energy-efficient buildings that manage to further optimize their energy consumption.
Over four seasons, the competition has achieved the following:
- more than 62 participating buildings, totaling 2.8 million m²;
- 27.8 GWh saved, with a record energy savings rate of 62%;
- 2.7 million euros in avoided utility bills and a cost per avoided metric ton of carbon that is 2.5 times more cost-effective than the European carbon market.
