CUBE 2025: Paris La Défense confirms its commitment

On September 30, 2025, the results of the French Energy Saving Championship were announced for the winners of the 2024-2025 CUBE Paris La Défense season. In the business district, participating buildings managed to reduce their energy consumption by an average of 22.3%.

This latest edition of the CUBE Paris La Défense competition was once again a success. Thanks to their coordinated efforts, the participating buildings achieved energy savings of over 22%.

A new successful edition

The CUBE competition transforms energy efficiency into a driver of innovation and cooperation. Each participant measures their actual consumption, sets targets, and shares best practices. For this new 2024-2025 edition, the CUBE Paris La Défense competition involves:

  • 27 stakeholders invested in 41 buildings/sites
  • 1,000,000 m² of floor space (45% of which is parking)
  • 22.8% average energy savings in one year (14 GWh)
  • Up to 56.5% energy savings for the best performers
  • 21.2% GHG emissions avoided (≈ 900 tCO₂ avoided)

In one year, owners, operators, users, and technical service providers in Europe's leading business district have proven that coordinated action pays off: an average of more than 22% energy savings have been achieved in participating buildings. This performance places Paris La Défense among the most committed regions in terms of energy transition.

In the business district, numerous players have committed to this new edition:

Three years of declining energy consumption

In three seasons, the CUBE Paris La Défense competition has achieved:

  • 41 participating infrastructures (buildings and parking lots)
  • 1.8 million square meters covered
  • 49 GWh saved (approximately €5 million with very little investment)
  • 3,000 tCO2 avoided
  • 4 out of 10 buildings already outperforming the 2030 Tertiary Decree target

Every year, improvements are seen, even among new buildings that are already performing well and managing to optimize their consumption. These results show that action can be taken without waiting for major work to be carried out: the key lies in the daily mobilization of teams and better management of usage.

Among the buildings involved in the La Défense area, some have been awarded a CUBE d'Or:

  • In the high-rise category: Hines – 35.8% energy savings for Workstation
  • In the parking category: Q-Park – 56.5% energy savings for the Coupole Regnault car park

For the Paris La Défense public institution, the Cube competition is one of its first initiatives to promote energy savings across the entire area. This commitment is in line with its raison d'être, established in 2021.
