Become a volunteer
La Maison de l'Amitié, an association that has been based in La Défense for several years, is looking for new volunteers. We're looking for new volunteers to reinforce the teams that run the “maraudes” and distribute hot drinks to the most vulnerable people in La Défense.
The Maison de l'Amitié needs help:
- on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, from 2pm to 4pm, to distribute hot drinks and snacks;
- on Saturdays, in the mornings from 8am to 10am or from 10am to 11:30am, to distribute hot drinks and snacks.
La Maison de l'Amitié is looking for three people who can commit themselves weekly, or at least twice a month, on a long-term basis, to patrol the forecourt of La Défense.
How can you become a volunteer?
To offer your help, you will need to:
- get in touch with volunteer manager Mariam Moustakaly by e-mail at mmoustakaly@lamaisondelamitie.fr or by telephone on 06 48 43 90 72;
- do a trial run in the field, to visit the association and understand how it works;
- validate your commitment, if both parties agree, by reading the association's welcome booklet and signing the volunteer charter.
Then it's time to confirm your availability and start your walks. The schedule is sent out every week.
La Maison de l'Amitié actions
La Maison de l'Amitié, located on Place Carpeaux and created more than 25 years ago, is an association offering daytime shelter. It offers a place to share and listen, to recreate social ties and promote solidarity. It offers several services (showers, washing machines, internet, doctor, social support, French workshop, luggage storage...), a coffee every morning and outreach activities.
