Jardins de l'Arche

Jardins de l'Arche
Surface area : 8 000 m²
Adress : 92000 Nanterre
The Jardins de l'Arche are located below the Grande Arche under the 450m-long aerial footbridge designed by Paul Chemetov. The famous landscape architect designed a large 8,000 m2 garden where mineral and vegetal elements mingle freely, evoking the four elements: water, fire, earth and air.
The gardens offer a place of relaxation and greenery for visitors wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and recharge their batteries. The Arche gardens are famous for their varied vegetation and contemporary design. They feature carefully landscaped areas, fountains, ponds and art installations. Visitors can stroll freely and enjoy the beauty of the landscape. The Arche gardens are also equipped with play areas for children, as well as numerous picnic and rest areas. What's more, the breathtaking view of the La Défense skyscrapers rising behind the gardens provides a unique perspective on the city's modernity and urbanism.
Gardens and footbridges link the cemeteries of Neuilly and Puteaux. The Jardin des Eléments showcases plants, minerals and water in a variety of nature-related themes. Between the tall white willows, the herbaceous and arborescent strata gradually evolve: gunneras, azaleas, coral dogwoods, parrotias, maples, miscanthus and an edge of Pennisetum. The pathway features a set of stones forming a calade, inviting visitors to circulate between the planted areas. These are marked by simple wooden posts.
