The Atmosphères Festival Returns to Courbevoie October 7–11, 2026

The Atmosphères Festival is back for its 16th consecutive year. This event dedicated to art, culture, and science invites you to the Courbevoie Event Center from Wednesday, October 7, through Sunday, October 11, 2026. As in previous years, the approximately twenty films to be screened will serve as the basis for workshops, activities, discussions, and debates.

The 2026 edition will address the following questions: In an increasingly fragmented world marked by violence, how can we learn to live with our differences? How can we reconcile people with one another and with the planet? If you, too, are looking for answers, follow the guide!

During the Atmosphères Festival, about twenty film projects are screened in previews, attended by the film crews, specialists, researchers, and scientific experts. At the heart of the issues addressed are the ecological transition and major environmental, social, and societal challenges. These screenings help us envision new forms of cooperation and solidarity that can take shape in a rapidly changing world, while taking adaptation factors into account and inspiring us to look toward the future.

For this 16th edition, the film selection includes:

• “Gabin” by Maxence Voiseux, with the director in attendance;
• “Wider Than The Sky” by Valerio Jalongo, followed by a discussion on AI with neuroscientist Albert Moukheiber;
• “Belleville Kitchen” by Marine Gauthier, with the director in attendance;
• “Congo Boy” by Rafiki Fariala;
• “Nos Âmes Libres” by Salomée Stévenin, with the director and researcher Fabienne Delfour in attendance;
• “L’Affaire Marie-Claire” by Lauriane Escaffre and Yvo Muller;
• “Bugboy” by Lucas Paleocrassas;

The Atmosphères Festival also features special events, such as the “Arts & Sciences: Saturday Night on Earth” evening, hosted by explorer and researcher Christian Clot, the patron of this year’s festival.

Numerous artists and scientists will be in attendance to explore the theme “Adapting means restoring balance in a changing reality, but also anticipating future risks.”

Another evening not to be missed is the short film screening. Centered on the theme “The Dream Life,” a selection of films will be screened in the presence of the film crews, during which the audience can vote for their favorite!

On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the closing night will feature two films:

• “La Vague” by Sebastian Lelio at 7:30 p.m.;
• “Rebuilding” by Max Walker-Silverman at 8:30 p.m.

While cinema is a major focus of the Atmosphères Festival, other events and gatherings will take place between October 7 and 11, 2026. Experts, artists, and scientists will lead various talks on a range of topics, such as:

• Having children;
• The erasure of women;
• Artificial intelligence;
• Resilience and cooperation;
• Biodiversity, our life insurance;
• Navigating the transition amid uncertainty;
• Soils and flavors;
• The geopolitics of food and gastronomy;
• Animals in cinema;
• Farmers: the realm of possibilities;
• Forum: The Republic of Hyper-Neighbors;
• City tour;
• Science Café.

And since art is celebrated in all its forms, you’ll also find other types of performances, such as “Et si c’était vrai” or “Aéronef,” a dialogue between music and dance.

Finally, numerous workshops will be held from Wednesday, October 7, through Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Courbevoie Event Center.

Over the past 15 years, nearly 270 films have been screened for free as previews, including “Flow,” “The Snow Leopard,” “The Story of Souleymane,” and more.

The 15th edition of the Atmosphères Festival drew more than 14,800 festivalgoers over five days, as well as 5,400 people who attended events remotely via streaming platforms. The festival also puts students in the spotlight with a program dedicated to young people. In 2025, 2,950 students participated.

And to bring it all to life, 160 scientists, experts, and speakers took part.
