Feydau at the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers from March 25 to May 10, 2026

Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers
From 25 march 2026 to 10 may 2026

Following its resounding success at its 2019 premiere at the Salle Richelieu, the famous play "La Puce à l’oreille", performed by the Comédie-Française troupe, is coming to the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers. Written by the illustrious Georges Feydeau, this vaudeville, directed by Lilo Baur, will run at the Nanterre theater from Wednesday, March 25, to Sunday, May 10, 2026.

After several years of renovations, the famous Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers reopens its doors and welcomes the Comédie-Française troupe to present its interpretation of Georges Feydeau’s play “La Puce à l’oreille.” A story full of misunderstandings, each more outrageous than the last, actors and actresses who are almost cartoonish, and a masterful production—it certainly promises to be a great evening. If you want to experience 2 hours and 10 minutes of nonstop laughter, follow the fleas!

The timeless puce à l’oreille

It was in 1907 that Georges Feydeau (1862–1921) wrote one of his most famous plays: "La Puce à l’oreille"! A vaudeville as far-fetched as they come. It all begins with a package accidentally opened by Mrs. Chandebise: suspenders sent from the Hôtel du Minet Galant. What follows is a series of misunderstandings and mind-boggling situations.

It tells how a simple mistake created one of the most zany and comical misunderstandings in the history of vaudeville. The plot begins with Raymonde Chandebise mistakenly receiving a package containing her husband’s suspenders, sent from the Hôtel du Minet Galant, a “dubious establishment.” With the help of her friend Lucienne Homénides de Histangua, she sets a trap for her husband, which results in a complete shambles from which no character—whether major or minor—will escape.

Directed by Lilo Baur

By playing on similarities, differences, and physical comedy in a 1960s middle-class cottage, the Swiss director hits all the right funny notes!

Lively and fast-paced, her direction promises performances that are funny, absurd, and burlesque. A play not to be missed at the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers!
