KM13: The Nanterre-La-Folie construction site celebrates on Saturday, May 30, 2026
Every year, the Société des Grands Projets highlights one of the stations currently under construction as part of the Grand Paris Express project. This year, it’s the turn of the Nanterre-La-Folie station on Line 15 West to celebrate. Join us on Saturday, May 30, 2026, to enjoy exclusive performances set against the backdrop of the station construction site.
The thirteenth edition of the Société des Grands Projets’ KM event will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Nanterre-La-Folie station in the Groues neighborhood. On the program: artistic performances, street performances, workshops for children, educational booths, and interactive spaces.
A big, friendly construction site party
The KM13 event will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Nanterre-La-Folie station construction site. This major celebration by the Société des Grands Projets is part of a series of artistic, community-focused, and festive gatherings organized during the construction of the Grand Paris Express. These events bring together residents, workers, and curious onlookers, allowing them to discover the major milestones in the construction of the new lines in the Île-de-France region.
This year, choreographer and director Christophe Rizzo is taking the reins at the Nanterre-La-Folie station construction site. From 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the Société des Grands Projets invites you to a festive afternoon in the Groues neighborhood. Designed to be open and diverse, the program will unfold throughout the afternoon and take various forms:
- street performances created by Flags Parade by Darius Dolatyari Dolatdoust and La Parade Moderne by Clédat and Petitpierre;
- artistic performances, such as Floé by Jean-Baptiste André and Vincent Lamouroux, Cheb by PLAN-K / Filipe Lourenço, SOLSTICE by the Contrepoint company, and Soka Tira Osoa by the Basinga company;
- a closing dance party with Lady Rock Party by the Lady Rock company.
A village and a booth in Paris La Défense
In addition to the artistic program, a pop-up village will be set up for visitors of all ages. There, you can explore:
- educational booths to help you better understand the construction site and its challenges;
- spaces for engagement and interaction with the teams and partners;
- on-site food and beverage options;
- workshops open to everyone—residents, families, curious visitors, and professionals;
- a “mini-lab technician” workshop for children over 6, featuring experiments with soil, a dedicated exhibition, and guidance from facilitators.
Paris La Défense will, of course, be present at this event with a dedicated booth. The public institution’s teams will be on hand to introduce you to the Groues neighborhood, its latest news, upcoming transformations, and ongoing construction projects. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about this new neighborhood in Nanterre.
A new train station for the Groues neighborhood
The Groues neighborhood is already served by the RER E line and is located near the RER A line and the La Défense transportation hub. The transportation network will be expanded by 2031 with the opening of the RER 15 West line.
The new Nanterre-La-Folie station will be located across from Rue de Lens and the Hébert Bridge. It was designed with a minimalist architectural style, open to the city and seamlessly integrated into the new neighborhood’s surroundings. The station will be topped by a mixed-use building with functions distinct from those of the station. It has been designed to accommodate transfer traffic from the RER E and bus lines.
