Michelet: Construction on the Lower Link During the Summer

June 29 through September 18, 2026

Paris La Défense will be conducting construction work in the Michelet sector and on the Liaison Basse during the summer of 2026.

As part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Michelet sector in Puteaux and infrastructure maintenance operations, Paris La Défense will undertake two successive construction projects during the summer of 2026.

To minimize the impact on users, the structural reinforcement work on the Liaison Basse has been scheduled partly during the closure period already required for the Michelet sector redevelopment. This coordination allows for the optimization of the work and reduces the overall duration of disruptions on the Boulevard Circulaire and the Liaison Basse.

These projects are necessary to improve public spaces and ensure the long-term durability of the traffic infrastructure.

Development Work in the Michelet Area

June 29–July 3, 2026

Paris La Défense is continuing the redevelopment of the Michelet sector in Puteaux.

The work involves laying the final asphalt surface in the Michelet public spaces, as well as improvements to the Parvis Bas in front of The Link tower.

Impact on Traffic

These works will result in:

  • the complete closure of the Boulevard Circulaire from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.;
  • the closure of the Liaison Basse for the duration of the works;
  • the implementation of detour routes;
  • the installation of permanent vertical and horizontal signage.

The detour maps are shown below.

July 6 through September 18, 2026

Following structural studies conducted on the structures of the Liaison Basse, reinforcement work must be undertaken on the upper tunnel connecting the Puteaux and Courbevoie sectors.

Nature of the Work

The work will consist, in particular, of:

  • repairing and reinforcing 14 existing butons;
  • locally removing deteriorated concrete;
  • carrying out the necessary structural reinforcements;
  • ensuring the long-term durability of the retaining wall and associated structures.

The work will be divided into two lots:

Reinforcement of the struts located at the entrance to the “Liaison Basse” tunnel: from July 6 to August 28, with the left lane closed for the entire duration of the work. From July 15 through August 28, the Liaison Basse will be completely closed between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.;

Widening of the sidewalk to bring the emergency exit of the upper tunnel (Courbevoie) up to code: work is scheduled to begin from September 7 through September 18, with traffic restrictions.

Construction Site Organization

Work will be carried out primarily during the day.

To ensure the safety of users and construction crews:

  • temporary closures will be implemented in phases;
  • construction zones will be set up gradually;
  • most work will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Appropriate signage will be posted to guide road users and minimize disruptions.
