Renovation work on the Rond-Point de La Défense staircase – Place de la Statue

Work on the redevelopment of the La Défense roundabout is continuing. As part of this, work on the staircase at the foot of the Légende Tower, which leads to the La Défense roundabout, is scheduled to begin in early October 2026.

Temporary closure of the staircase

As part of the renovation works, the staircase will be closed from 5 October 2026 for an estimated period of 8 to 10 weeks.

What work is planned?

The work will include, in particular:

  • replacing the concrete section of the staircase;
  • repairing its waterproofing;
  • treating corrosion on the steel beams located in the TDSG room.

What disruption can be expected?

The work will be carried out during the day. It may cause occasional noise disturbance.

To minimise disruption, the works areas will be confined to the relevant workshops.

Access to the bus drop-off point, the Centre’s car park and the various routes required for users’ movement will be maintained throughout the works.

How will people get around during the works?

Whilst the staircase is closed, a temporary staircase will be installed from the slab to ensure the continuity of pedestrian routes.

This will connect the slab to the various levels of the pavements along the roads, thereby enabling users to move around freely throughout the duration of the works.
